Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospitals has announced a partnership with the Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) aimed at providing accessible healthcare to over 10,500 sugarcane farmers at a reduced rate. This initiative is designed to promote access to quality and efficient healthcare services for this vital agricultural community.
The collaboration was established following discussions between Parvish Kumar, the founder and CEO of PSH, and key representatives from SCGF, including chairman Ahmed Bhamji and CEO Raj Sharma, during a recent visit over the weekend. During their tour of PSH’s Nadi hospital, Bhamji and Sharma praised the high standards of medical technology and cleanliness upheld in the hospital.
Bhamji emphasized the importance of offering competitive benefits to sugarcane farmers, mentioning that the SCGF Loyalty Programme has implemented several policy adjustments to better accommodate growers’ needs. He noted that the agricultural sector has a significant number of productive growers who could benefit from collective purchasing power, and this program will enable them to access the best healthcare options available.
Sharma added that this partnership would significantly improve the livelihoods of sugarcane farmers, stating that discussions with Kumar focused on advancing healthcare initiatives for these farmers throughout Fiji. The program will also extend its healthcare services to Labasa, enabling more farmers to enjoy these benefits.
Moreover, an outreach effort is in place to promote wellness and healthcare awareness among cane farmers, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals regarding health. Kumar expressed his commitment to supporting the farming community, acknowledging the historical importance of the sugarcane industry to Fiji’s economy. He highlighted his awareness of the challenges farmers face in securing necessary healthcare and assured that this loyalty program would facilitate quicker and more affordable medical services at PSH hospitals.
Overall, this partnership represents a progressive step towards enhancing healthcare access for Fiji’s sugarcane farmers, reflecting a collective commitment to addressing their specific needs and improving their quality of life.
Summary: PSH Hospitals has partnered with SCGF to provide affordable healthcare to over 10,500 sugarcane farmers, underscoring a commitment to enhance their access to quality medical services while supporting a vital sector of Fiji’s economy.
