Fiji’s Lightweight boxing champion Ubayd Haider has announced his willingness to fight Mikaele Ravalaca, but he has stipulated a significant requirement from promoters. Haider is seeking a contract purse of $30,000 for the bout against Ravalaca.
“This is a matchup that could potentially bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars for the promoter,” Haider stated. He emphasized the importance of such fights for his boxing career and personal life, noting, “I have dedicated nearly 20 years to this sport.”
Haider further expressed his readiness to compete, saying, “Pay me $30,000, and I will face Mika anywhere he prefers, even under a mango tree.”
In the coming months, Haider is set to take on Australia-based boxer Pom Thanawut Phetkum in October. This is noteworthy, as Ravalaca lost to Phetkum in his professional debut in Suva last year.
