Acting Prime Minister Viliame Gavoka held a meeting with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in Suva yesterday, where they explored the potential of Wellness Tourism to expand the Fijian market. Gavoka expressed his gratitude to Gurudev for his visit to Fiji and for promoting messages of goodwill and prosperity.
Their discussions delved into pressing social issues impacting young people today, including drug abuse and the misuse of social media.
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a prominent Indian guru and spiritual leader, born in Papanasam, Tamil Nadu, India, and he is the founder of the Art of Living Foundation. Earlier that day, Gurudev met with President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at the State House.
The President acknowledged that Gurudev’s philosophy transcends conventional boundaries that can divide societies, fostering unity among people from diverse backgrounds based on shared human values. As a token of appreciation for his remarkable contributions to Fiji and humanity, President Katonivere awarded Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar the Officer of Fiji medal, honoring his exemplary service.
