The Western Disabled People’s Association holds a total of 247 registered members, as announced by the association’s president, Ravindra Mani, during their recent annual general meeting in Lautoka.

Mani highlighted that the association received food packs valued at $36,000 from the Punjas Group last year. He noted that the organization’s membership has expanded to include individuals from Rakiraki, Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, and is making inroads in Sigatoka as well.

He expressed a desire for continued growth and encouraged community members interested in joining to come forward. The association also enjoyed a successful wheel-a-thon last year.

Additionally, an MOU has been signed with the Fijian Elections Office to prioritize individuals with disabilities at polling stations during elections. “To achieve success, teamwork is essential,” Mani stated.
