“Growing Demand: Principal Calls for More Classrooms and Teacher Quarters”

Josefa Draunidalo, the principal of Yasayasa Moala College, has highlighted the urgent need for additional teachers’ quarters and more classrooms to accommodate students. Situated in Naroi Village in Lau, Draunidalo stated that the school has halted admissions from the nearby islands of Matuku and Totoya due to insufficient classroom space.

He noted, “The need for teachers’ quarters has been long overdue,” emphasizing the difficulties faced in this area. Draunidalo mentioned that they are working with alumni to seek assistance for constructing teachers’ quarters, recognizing the importance of teachers’ welfare.

As the student population increases, Draunidalo expressed concern that the college can no longer enroll children from Matuku and Totoya. He added, “We require additional classrooms to support optional classes, and we are currently awaiting opportunities for financial assistance.”
