Grants and Audits: Aseri Confirms All Clear for Pacific Polytech

Pacific Polytech is obligated to provide detailed reports on all government grants it receives, and recent audits of its accounts indicate no issues, as stated by Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro in Parliament.

In response to a question regarding the assessment of the initial $2 million grant awarded to Pacific Polytech, Radrodro explained that, like all institutions overseen by the Higher Education Commission of Fiji (HECF), Pacific Polytech must submit reports on its expenditures for each quarterly grant it receives. He noted that grants for subsequent quarters are only authorized once HECF is satisfied with the submitted spending reports.

Radrodro emphasized the necessity of submitting audited financial statements, all of which have been provided for the years Pacific Polytech has received government funding. He confirmed that these audits were clear, with no concerns raised.

The minister highlighted that the HECF oversees the funded programs and that no institution can offer programs not approved by the Commission. He reassured that all programs offered by Pacific Polytech have undergone strict review and have received the necessary approvals from the Higher Education Commission of Fiji.
