Two directors from Grace Road have submitted an interrogatory application consisting of 23 questions directed at Immigration Minister Pio Tikoduadua. Representatives for Sung Jin Lee and Nam Suk Choi, from Gordon and Company, presented this application to Justice Anare Tuilevuka in the High Court located in Suva.
The application included an unissued copy of summons, an affidavit supporting Wasu Pillay, and the interrogatories from the applicants. Ofa Solimailagi, representing the Attorney-General’s office, stated that while the questions have been assessed, not all would be answered because the minister might not possess the necessary information or may not be the proper authority.
Solimailagi intends to submit an affidavit responding to the questions before the end of business on September 24. In the meantime, attorney Devanesh Sharma, acting on behalf of Gordon and Company, expressed hope that the government would provide answers to at least 17 of the 23 questions. He suggested that both parties meet to resolve any outstanding issues to avoid further disputes.
Sharma also noted that the Attorney-General’s office has yet to share the taskforce report with the defendants. The case is scheduled to be heard again in the High Court in Lautoka on September 25.
