Two directors from Grace Road, Sung Jin Lee and Nam Suk Choi, have submitted an interrogatory application consisting of 23 questions directed at Immigration Minister Pio Tikoduadua. Their legal representatives from Gordon and Company presented this application to Justice Anare Tuilevuka in the High Court in Suva yesterday.
The submission included an unissued copy of summons, an affidavit in support by Wasu Pillay, and the interrogatories. Ofa Solimailagi, representing the Attorney-General’s office, noted that while the questions had been reviewed, not all could be addressed, as the minister may not be the appropriate authority or might lack access to certain information.
Solimailagi plans to file an affidavit responding to the questions by the end of business on September 24. Meanwhile, Devanesh Sharma, also from Gordon and Company, expressed hope that the government would answer at least 17 of the 23 questions and suggested that both parties should meet to resolve issues amicably and avoid potential conflict.
Additionally, Sharma disclosed that the Attorney-General’s office has yet to provide the defendants with the taskforce report. The case will be revisited in the High Court in Lautoka on September 25.
