The government is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its citizens through improved services in health, education, infrastructure, water supply, electricity, cemeteries, and agriculture. This commitment was emphasized by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad during a recent tour in the North, where he met with residents, farmers, and landowners in Seaqaqa.

Joining him were Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations Minister Agni Deo Singh and various stakeholders. Farmers expressed their gratitude to the government for the support provided to the agriculture sector, which addresses the needs of both Sugar and non-Sugar farmers.

Professor Prasad also shared details about upcoming developments, particularly the Vanua Levu Tourism Development Project. He outlined the project’s goals, which include strengthening vital infrastructure and services, enhancing coordination and private sector involvement in tourism, and promoting environmental sustainability in tourism assets.

These initiatives aim to improve livelihoods by creating new job opportunities and driving increased demand within the agricultural sector.
