The government is dedicated to providing services aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens in various sectors, including health, education, transportation, water supply, electricity, cemeteries, and agriculture. This commitment was emphasized by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad during a recent tour of the North, where he engaged stakeholders in Seaqaqa, including residents, farmers, and landowners.

Accompanying him were Employment, Productivity and Workplace Relations Minister Agni Deo Singh and other key stakeholders. Farmers expressed their gratitude to the government for the support extended to the agriculture sector, addressing the specific needs of both the sugar and non-sugar industries.

Professor Prasad also informed residents about upcoming developments, particularly the Vanua Levu Tourism Development Project. He clarified that the project’s goals include enhancing targeted infrastructure and essential services, improving coordination and encouraging private sector involvement in tourism, and promoting the environmental sustainability of tourism resources.

He noted that these initiatives are expected to have a positive impact on local livelihoods by generating new job opportunities and boosting demand in the agricultural sector.
