The annual East vs West golf tournament is scheduled to be held on November 17 at the Fiji Golf Club. Golf Fiji President Amitesh Chandra noted that the tournament will consist of two sessions, each presenting unique challenges for the participants. The morning session will employ an Ambrose format, where pairs from each team will compete in their respective grades. In the afternoon, players will transition to individual match play, with points awarded for wins and draws.
“The team accumulating the most points by the end of the day will be crowned the winner,” Chandra stated. Golf Fiji is fully funding the event, investing $3,500 to support this initiative.
Chandra emphasized the tournament’s purpose: “Our goal is to promote the game and foster healthy competition among golfers across the country. Events like this bring players together, improve their skills, and strengthen the golfing community.”
