Kitione Baleloa, the golden glove winner from the Futsal IDC, has officially joined the Labasa squad for the upcoming Pacific Community Cup. Baleloa, who is a goalkeeper for the Suva Futsal champions and plays for Tailevu Naitasiri, has been brought in as a guest player to support veteran goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau.
Labasa’s coach, Ravneel Pratap, explained the reasoning behind this addition, noting that other goalkeepers on the team are unavailable. Jitoko Vulava is currently occupied with work commitments and attending a training course with the Fiji Police Force, while Joji Vuakaca is sidelined due to injury.
“Kitione is in good shape and has agreed to join us. We are happy to have him on board,” Pratap stated, highlighting Baleloa’s readiness and enthusiasm to contribute to the team.
Additionally, Asaeli Tunidau and Sakiusa Saqiri from Tailevu Naitasiri have also joined Labasa for the Pacific Cup.
Labasa is set to kick off their campaign against the USA All Stars at 4:30 PM today.
This recruitment not only strengthens Labasa’s squad but also showcases their adaptability in addressing challenges, which is crucial in competitive sports. As they step onto the field, fans can look forward to an exciting match ahead, filled with talent and determination.
