In a beautiful expression of community spirit, the Golden Age Home in Samabula, Suva, recently celebrated Diwali alongside its elderly residents, fostering joy and togetherness during this festival of lights. The event, which took place on Friday, was organized by the dedicated staff and caregivers of the home.

This celebration formed part of the home’s enrichment programs, which aim to elevate the mood of residents and provide opportunities for connection during significant cultural and festive occasions. Residents enjoyed a delightful festive lunch that included traditional Diwali sweets, allowing them to indulge in the flavors of the holiday.

The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by a live musical performance from the Fiji Corrections Services Band, which brought smiles and rhythm to the gathering. Veremo Muria, the Director of Social Protection, emphasized the significance of such celebrations for the residents.
