“Gift of Life: Heart Surgeries Transform Futures for Children”

Spread the love

Three children have successfully undergone lifesaving heart surgeries at Sai Prema Hospital and have been discharged, bringing relief and joy to their families.

Parents expressed deep gratitude to the hospital for providing their children with the “gift of life.” Naomi Taubera, 27, was particularly emotional after her four-year-old son had an open-heart surgery to close heart valves.

“When my son was born, we had our first echocardiogram in Lautoka, but we couldn’t schedule the second one due to COVID-19 restrictions,” Ms. Taubera explained. Following a referral from a medical professional, they turned to Sai Prema Hospital, which offers free screenings for children. This led to the discovery of her son’s heart condition.

“When I learned about his diagnosis, I was terrified and emotional. But now, I’m incredibly relieved that the surgery went well,” she stated. She encouraged other parents to bring their children to Sai Prema Hospital, emphasizing, “It’s best to address these health concerns sooner rather than later.”
