Three children have successfully completed lifesaving heart surgeries at Sai Prema Hospital and have been discharged, bringing joy and relief to their families.
Parents expressed their gratitude towards the hospital for providing their children with the “gift of life.”
Naomi Taubera, 27, shared her overwhelming emotions as her four-year-old son had open-heart surgery to close heart valves.
“When my son was born, we had our first echocardiogram in Lautoka, but we couldn’t schedule the second one due to COVID-19 restrictions,” Ms. Taubera recounted. After receiving a referral from a medical professional, they sought assistance from Sai Prema Hospital, which provides free screenings for children, leading to the discovery of her son’s heart condition.
“When I learned about his diagnosis, I was terrified and emotional. But now, I’m incredibly relieved that the surgery went well,” she said. Ms. Taubera is encouraging other parents to take their children to Sai Prema Hospital, stating, “It’s best to address these health concerns sooner rather than later.”
