Futsal Frenzy: 25 Teams Compete for Glory in Suva

The Tebara Hardware Muslim Futsal IDC 2024 is currently taking place at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva, featuring a total of 25 teams competing over three days. This marks an increase in participation compared to the previous year, highlighting the event’s growing popularity.

The tournament, organized by the Fiji Muslim Sports Association, is in its second year and has proven to be a success thus far. Vice President Mohammad Faruk noted that the competition has been fierce but filled with thrilling matches.

Faruk explained, “There are different divisions in the competition, including the main division, masters division, under-15 grade, and legends grade. Each team is striving for victory, with a prize of $1,000 for the winners of each grade.”

He also mentioned that the competition has revealed impressive talent, particularly among the U15 teams, creating an exciting atmosphere for both players and spectators. Major sponsors, including Signs Pacific Nadi, Safety Rentals Cars, and Tebara Hardware, have been instrumental in facilitating the event, and their support is much appreciated.

In results from the main grade matches, Ba and Nadi ended in a 3-3 draw, Makoi and Suva drew 4-4, Drasa triumphed over Nasinu 4-3, Navua defeated Sigatoka 6-3, Nasinu lost to Valelevu 0-6, and South Leg fell to Sigatoka 1-3.

The Muslim Futsal competition is set to conclude today.
