The Tebara Hardware Muslim Futsal IDC 2024 is currently taking place at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva, featuring 25 teams competing over three days. This marks an increase in participation from the previous year, highlighting the event’s growing appeal.
Organized by the Fiji Muslim Sports Association, this is the tournament’s second iteration and it has been deemed a success thus far. Vice-president Mohammad Faruk remarked on the competitive nature of the event, which has seen many thrilling matches.
Faruk stated, “The competition includes various divisions such as the main division, masters division, under-15 grade, and Legends grade. Each team is striving for victory, with a prize of $1,000 for the champions of each division. The event has highlighted remarkable talent, especially among the U15 teams, offering an exciting experience for players and fans alike.”
Significant sponsors including Signs Pacific Nadi, Safety Rentals Cars, and Tebara Hardware have been instrumental in bringing this event to life, and their support has been greatly valued.
In the main division matches, the results included Ba 3-3 Nadi, Makoi 4-4 Suva, Drasa 4-3 Nasinu, Navua 6-3 Sigatoka, Nasinu 0-6 Valelevu, and South Leg 1-3 Sigatoka. The Muslim Futsal competition is set to conclude today.
