Funding Boost for NGOs: Health Ministry Allocates $1.6m

About $1.6 million has been allocated under the Ministry of Health to support non-governmental organizations in the upcoming financial year.

During the 2024-2025 National Budget debates yesterday, Health Minister Dr. Atonio Lalabalavu announced that the grant would be distributed to several NGOs, including the Fiji Cancer Society and Empower Pacific.

Dr. Lalabalavu mentioned that the funding for the upcoming financial year had increased due to the rising demand for assistance.

He emphasized that NGOs play a crucial role in filling service gaps and highlighted that WOWs Kids is expected to apply for this funding as well.

Currently, about five NGOs are benefiting from this financial assistance.
