Starting Friday, November 1, 2024, fuel prices will see a reduction across various categories, while Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) products will experience a slight increase.
The price of motor spirit will drop from $2.73 per litre to $2.62. Similarly, premix will see a decrease of 12 cents, changing from $2.55 to $2.43 per litre. Kerosene prices are also set to fall, moving from $1.79 to $1.67 per litre. Diesel will see a decrease as well, with prices falling by 15 cents from $2.33 to $2.18 per litre.
In contrast, LPG prices will rise. A 4.5kg cylinder of gas will now be priced at $14.97 after an increase of 17 cents, while the cost of a 12kg cylinder will increase from $39.46 to $39.91. Additionally, the bulk gas price will rise by 4 cents, adjusting from $3.04 to $3.08 per kg, and autogas will see a 2-cent increase from $2.14 to $2.16 per litre.
While the rise in LPG prices may be concerning for consumers, the overall decrease in fuel prices can provide economic relief and make transportation more affordable for many. This could foster increased mobility and potentially stimulate local economies as individuals and businesses save on fuel costs.
