Fuel and LPG Prices Set to Rise Tomorrow: What’s Driving the Increase?

Starting tomorrow, December 1, 2024, consumers will see an increase in fuel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices. The price of motor spirit will rise by 5 cents, bringing it from $2.62 to $2.67 per litre. Additionally, the premix price will increase from $2.43 to $2.51 per litre.

Kerosene will also see a price hike of 7 cents, going from $1.67 to $1.74 per litre. Diesel prices will rise from $2.18 to $2.27 per litre. In terms of LPG, a 4.5kg gas cylinder will now cost $15.35, up from $14.97, while the price for a 12kg cylinder will go up by $1.01, from $39.91 to $40.92. Furthermore, bulk gas will see an increase of 8 cents, from $3.08 to $3.16, and autogas will rise from $2.16 to $2.22 per litre.

Although these price hikes may pose challenges for consumers, they reflect changing market conditions and could encourage greater energy efficiency and the exploration of alternative energy sources, ultimately leading to a more sustainable future.
