Elenoa Suvewa Ratudradra embodies the belief that hard work, sacrifices, and steadfast faith can help anyone overcome life’s challenges. With over a decade of experience in the tourism and hospitality sector, Ms. Ratudradra currently serves as the food and beverage supervisor at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort located on Nadi’s Denarau Island.
Originating from the village of Namotomoto in Nadi, with familial ties to Nakabuta in Nadroga, renowned for its exquisite pottery, Ms. Ratudradra has a strong connection to her roots. At 43 years old, she juggles her career with being a dedicated wife and mother to four children – two sons and two daughters.
Her journey at Sheraton began in 2004 when she joined as a temporary waiter at the Verandah Restaurant. Over the years, she cultivated her skills in this vibrant setting. By 2014, Ms. Ratudradra transitioned to Wet Edge Restaurant, where she thrived for five years in the bustling food and beverage space.
The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 posed unexpected challenges for her career; however, she demonstrated remarkable resilience. In 2022, she returned to Sheraton, this time as a guest service agent, eager to embrace new opportunities. Her efforts were soon recognized, leading to her promotion to team leader in 2023 and subsequently to supervisor this year.
Reflecting on her experiences, Ms. Ratudradra expresses pride in considering Sheraton her second home, a place that has fostered her development both professionally and personally. Her favorite spot at the resort is Sega Na Leqa (SNL), where she relishes the energetic environment and the interactions with guests and colleagues.
Gratitude plays a vital role in her perspective: “I must acknowledge Almighty God. Without His guidance and blessings, I would not be where I am today,” she asserts. Additionally, she credits her leaders for believing in her potential and providing invaluable mentorship throughout her journey.
Her optimistic outlook on challenges resonates through her advice to colleagues: to view every experience as an opportunity for growth and improvement. “Let us continue to uplift one another and create a brighter future for ourselves and our community,” she emphasizes.
