From Tyre to Triumph: A Boxer’s Unlikely Training Journey

A boxer has adopted an unconventional training method using an old tire to prepare for his debut in professional boxing. Vitori Cavalevu utilized the tire, which was suspended from a house’s roof, as his main training tool. His unique approach transformed this simple item into an essential component of his preparation.

Cavalevu dedicated hours each day honing his punching skills, footwork, and stamina. A video showcasing his training has garnered significant attention online. Despite not having access to advanced training equipment, his determination and persistent effort proved successful, as he knocked out his opponent, Tevita Sete, in less than three minutes during the match.

Although Cavalevu preferred not to speak to the media, his trainer, Joji Naisua, shared insights about the 24-year-old, describing him as a farmer rather than a professional boxer. Naisua explained that they engaged youth in boxing to steer them away from illicit activities and noted Cavalevu’s exceptional composure, which he believes has the potential to elevate him in the sport.

Moving forward, Naisua indicated plans to involve Cavalevu in additional training activities to enhance his strength and fitness. He also mentioned that Cavalevu is open to challenges from anyone looking to face him in his next fight.
