A boxer has trained with an old tire to prepare for his debut professional boxing match. The tire, which was suspended from the roof of a house, became Vitori Cavalevu’s main training tool. Although an unusual choice, Cavalevu’s creativity transformed this simple object into an essential training resource.
Daily, he dedicated hours to improving his punching technique, footwork, and endurance. His training preparation video has captured widespread attention. Despite lacking access to advanced equipment, Cavalevu’s dedication and effort paid off, leading to a knockout victory over his opponent, Tevita Sete, in under three minutes.
Though he avoided interviews, his trainer, Joji Naisua, shared that Cavalevu, 24, is primarily a farmer rather than a professional boxer. Naisua emphasized their goal of engaging these young men in boxing to deter them from illicit activities. He noted Cavalevu’s composure could elevate him to the next level in his boxing career.
Moving forward, Naisua indicated plans to involve Cavalevu in additional activities aimed at enhancing his strength and fitness. He also mentioned that Cavalevu is open to challenges from anyone looking to compete against him in future fights.
