From Struggles to Success: Graduation Day for Avisaki Buirokotuiloma

After six years of hard work, Avisaki Buirokotuiloma has successfully completed her Bachelor of Education program at the University of the South Pacific.

With strong financial support from her parents, Ms. Buirokotuiloma took on various jobs to fund her education. Walking across the graduation stage last Friday was the fulfillment of a long-held dream for her.

Ms. Buirokotuiloma discussed the challenges she faced in securing the necessary finances for her studies, which at times made her contemplate quitting. However, the unwavering support and encouragement from her parents kept her motivated. “I’m beyond grateful for the countless prayers from family and relatives; it wouldn’t have been possible without their support,” she remarked.

In addition to her studies, Ms. Buirokotuiloma often took on part-time work while managing her home responsibilities. Despite numerous difficulties, her determination to succeed never waned. She acknowledged that striking a balance between her education and home life was challenging, but with the right support and information, she could navigate these obstacles.

Hailing from Navuniyasi in Naitasiri, Ms. Buirokotuiloma’s aspiration to become a teacher is finally coming to fruition. She has always imagined herself teaching in a classroom, and now that vision is becoming a reality. “With this degree, I will be able to secure a stable job and contribute to my family. It is never too late; I am thrilled that I have finally achieved this,” she expressed.
