From Struggles to Success: A Graduate’s Inspiring Journey

After six years of hard work, Avisaki Buirokotuiloma has successfully completed her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of the South Pacific.

Supported by her parents financially, Ms. Buirokotuiloma also needed to find ways to earn an income in order to finish her education. Walking across the graduation stage on Friday was a moment she had long awaited.

She expressed that securing enough financial resources to cover her tuition was a major challenge. “There were times when I considered giving up, but my parents’ unwavering support and encouragement kept me going,” she said. “I am immensely thankful for the prayers and support from my family and relatives; I couldn’t have done it without them.”

To help fund her studies, Ms. Buirokotuiloma often worked part-time jobs while managing her academic responsibilities. Despite facing various obstacles, she remained focused on her goal.

She acknowledged that juggling her studies and home responsibilities was difficult, but having the right information and support made a considerable difference.

Hailing from Navuniyasi in Naitasiri, her dream of becoming a teacher is now within reach. She has always envisioned herself in a classroom, and that dream is gradually becoming a reality.

With her degree in hand, she looks forward to securing a stable job and contributing to her household. “It’s never too late, and I am thrilled to have finally accomplished this,” she stated.
