After six years of hard work, Avisaki Buirokotuiloma has successfully completed her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of the South Pacific. Raised by supportive parents who assisted her financially, Ms. Buirokotuiloma also took on jobs to fund her studies.

Walking across the graduation stage on Friday was a momentous occasion for her. She acknowledged that securing sufficient financial resources for her studies posed a significant challenge. “There were times when I thought about giving up, but my parents’ unwavering support and encouragement drove me forward,” she expressed.

Grateful for the countless prayers and support from her family and relatives, she reflected, “It wouldn’t have been possible without them.” To aid in her education, Ms. Buirokotuiloma often worked part-time jobs while managing her responsibilities at home.

Despite facing substantial hurdles, she was resolute in her goal to succeed. Balancing her studies with family duties proved challenging, but she noted that having access to the right information and support made a significant impact.

Originally from Navuniyasi in Naitasiri, her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher is now on the verge of fulfillment. With her degree in hand, she looks forward to securing a stable job to contribute to her family. “It’s never too late; I am delighted to have finally achieved this goal,” she said.
