After six years of hard work, Avisaki Buirokotuiloma has successfully completed her Bachelor of Education at the University of the South Pacific. Supported financially by her parents, Ms. Buirokotuiloma also took on part-time jobs to fund her education.
Walking across the graduation stage was a significant achievement for her, symbolizing the realization of a long-held dream. She faced considerable challenges in securing the finances necessary for her courses. “At times, I thought about giving up, but my parents’ encouragement kept me motivated,” she shared. She expressed deep gratitude for the prayers and support from her family, emphasizing that their backing was crucial to her success.
Hailing from Navuniyasi in Naitasiri, Ms. Buirokotuiloma’s aspiration of becoming a teacher is now a reality. Despite the difficulties in balancing home responsibilities with her studies, she remained focused on her goal, believing that with the right support and information, she could overcome any obstacle.
With her degree in hand, she looks forward to obtaining a stable job that will enable her to contribute more significantly at home, reinforcing her belief that it is never too late to achieve one’s dreams.
