Tarfeeha Nuzhat, a 22-year-old student at the University of Fiji, has achieved remarkable recognition for her academic endeavors. During the recent School of Business and Economics awards ceremony held at the Saweni campus in Lautoka, she was honored as the Most Outstanding Management Student for 2024. In addition to this prestigious title, Nuzhat received two Outstanding Awards in Marketing Management and HR Management.
Nuzhat, who has completed her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on English Literary Arts and Management, is currently awaiting her graduation. Her journey towards success has been profoundly motivated by her family, with Nuzhat stating, “What I have achieved is for them, as without them, I wouldn’t be here today on this platform.”
Emphasizing the importance of supporting others, she shared, “I live by the quote, ‘Adjusting someone else’s crown can never let yours slip.’ I am a firm believer in clapping for others, believing that my turn will come, and it has. For anyone struggling, I would like to say: never give up. Life has setbacks, but it also has comebacks. Dream big and be patient.”
To enhance her studies, Nuzhat adopted a new study routine that involved breaking tasks into smaller, manageable segments, which helped her avoid sleepless nights and improved her focus. She also prioritized self-care, ensuring she took regular breaks to recharge, which ultimately boosted her productivity.
Reflecting on her journey, Nuzhat faced significant challenges, particularly when moving from Suva to Lautoka, a change that meant adjusting to a new environment and leaving her friends behind. The transition was difficult, especially as she is an only child, and she missed her siblings’ companionship. However, she faced the pressures of university with determination.
“The weight of my aspirations often led to sleepless nights as I juggled assignments and exams,” she recounted. “Each challenge has shaped me, teaching me resilience and the importance of perseverance, even when the journey feels overwhelming.”
