Tarfeeha Nuzhat, a 22-year-old student, has demonstrated exceptional dedication and resilience in her academic journey, culminating in being named the Most Outstanding Management Student 2024 at the University of Fiji’s School of Business and Economics awards night held at Saweni campus, Lautoka. In addition to this prestigious recognition, she earned two Outstanding Awards in Marketing Management and HR Management.
Nuzhat has completed her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on English Literary Arts and Management and is currently awaiting her graduation. Her motivation to succeed is deeply rooted in her family; she credits her achievements to their unwavering support. “What I have achieved is for them, as without them, I wouldn’t be here today on this platform,” she expressed.
Living by the inspiring quote, “Adjusting someone else’s crown can never let yours slip,” she emphasizes the importance of supporting others while maintaining her ambitions. Nuzhat encourages those facing challenges to persevere, stating, “Life has setbacks, but it also has comebacks. Dream big and be patient.”
Nuzhat also prioritizes self-care in her routine, finding ways to recharge and take breaks which significantly enhanced her focus and productivity. She shared her journey, noting the challenges of transitioning from Suva to Lautoka, leaving behind familiar comforts and the support of her friends and family. Being an only child at home compounded her feelings of loneliness in the new environment, where she missed her siblings.
Despite these challenges, she faced the pressure of her aspirations head-on, often sacrificing sleep to manage her assignments, exams, and the desire to excel. Through these experiences, she has learned invaluable lessons about resilience and the significance of perseverance, even during tough times.
