Tarfeeha Nuzhat, a 22-year-old student, has achieved notable recognition at the University of Fiji, earning the title of Most Outstanding Management Student 2024 during the School of Business and Economics awards night held at the Saweni campus in Lautoka. In addition to this prestigious award, Nuzhat also received Outstanding Awards in Marketing Management and HR Management.
Having completed her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English Literary Arts and Management, Nuzhat is now eagerly awaiting her graduation. Her academic success is driven by a profound motivation: her family and parents. She expressed her gratitude, stating, “What I have achieved is for them, as without them, I wouldn’t be here today on this platform.”
Nuzhat emphasizes the importance of supporting others, highlighting her belief in celebrating others’ successes while waiting for her own opportunities. “I live by the quote, ‘Adjusting someone else’s crown can never let yours slip.’ I am a firm believer in clapping for others, believing that my turn will come, and it has. For anyone struggling, I would like to say: never give up. Life has setbacks, but it also has comebacks. Dream big and be patient.”
In crafting her successful routine, Nuzhat adopted strategic approaches to study, including developing better study habits and self-care practices. These methods allowed her to take breaks and recharge, ultimately boosting her focus and productivity. Despite the significant transition from Suva to Lautoka, which left her feeling lonely at times, she managed to navigate her challenges with positivity. She noted how this adjustment was particularly difficult as an only child and how she missed the support of her siblings.
Balancing her academic responsibilities with her aspirations was demanding, leading to sleepless nights filled with the pressures of assignments and exams. Yet, she recognizes that each obstacle has contributed to her resilience, reinforcing the importance of perseverance.
