From Passion to Profit: Young Farmer’s Dairy Dream Takes Flight

Tasweed Zunar Ali, motivated by his father’s legacy on their family dairy farm, has followed his ambition to become a dairy farmer despite facing societal expectations. After the death of his father in 2021, he took over the farm and successfully increased the herd from 20 to 60 cows, producing approximately 230 liters of milk each day for Fiji Dairy Limited.

Throughout his journey, he has encountered obstacles such as dog attacks and unfavorable weather conditions. However, he has benefitted from assistance provided by the Agriculture Ministry and the Dairy Extension Programme, which have helped him enhance pasture management and feeding techniques.

Tasweed encourages aspiring farmers to pursue their passion for agriculture while emphasizing the importance of hygiene, animal welfare, and finding satisfaction in their work.
