From Ordinary to Extraordinary: Meet the Baton of Honour Hero

Mosese Tuimatai, an 18-year-old from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, who received the Baton of Honour at Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, emphasized the significance of discipline for long-term benefits. He credited his father with instilling this value in him from a young age.

Tuimatai expressed his surprise upon being called to accept the award and noted that he is the first in his family to reach Year 13. He highlighted the importance of listening to parents and discussed how the cadet training program has helped him develop self-discipline, which he believes is crucial for students’ success. He extended his gratitude to the teachers and the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces for their role in training.

Aiming to become a marine engineer, Tuimatai shared his appreciation for the support he has received from God and his family, expressing that receiving the Baton of Honour was an unexpected but joyous moment for him.
