From Motherhood to Graduation: One Woman’s Inspiring Journey

After a four-year hiatus dedicated to raising her two children, Maria Adimainatuvu celebrated her graduation from the University of the South Pacific with great joy. She received a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management, marking the beginning of her journey in the tourism industry.

Ms. Adimainatuvu expressed that completing her degree has greatly enhanced her self-esteem and instilled in her a profound sense of achievement. She reflected on the challenges of balancing her family responsibilities with her studies, stating that while the journey was difficult, it has also been extremely rewarding.

Despite facing numerous setbacks, she remained determined to create a better future for her children. She views her success as a powerful example for them, emphasizing the significance of education, perseverance, and self-improvement.

The experience of returning to school while managing her family has sharpened her problem-solving abilities and adaptability. With strong family values at the core of her life, Ms. Adimainatuvu takes pride in fostering a supportive home environment.

At 27 years old and hailing from Kaba Village in Tailevu, she is enthusiastic about her future. She believes that with the support of her peers, friends, and family, there’s nothing that can prevent her from achieving her goals. She remarked, “Nothing is impossible. This will not be my last graduation; I am going to pursue the next level.”
