From Motherhood to Graduation: One Woman’s Inspiring Journey

After a four-year hiatus to care for her two children, Maria Adimainatuvu celebrated her graduation from the University of the South Pacific yesterday. Filled with joy, Ms. Adimainatuvu received her Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management, marking the beginning of her aspirations in the tourism sector.

“Completing this degree has greatly enhanced my self-esteem and provided me with a strong sense of achievement,” she expressed. Ms. Adimainatuvu acknowledged the challenges of balancing her academic pursuits with family responsibilities but found the journey to be highly rewarding.

Despite facing numerous obstacles, she remained committed to creating a brighter future for her children. She emphasizes that her success serves as a potent example for her kids about the value of education, perseverance, and self-improvement.

Returning to school while managing family duties has sharpened her problem-solving and adaptability skills. With a strong foundation in family values, Ms. Adimainatuvu takes pride in fostering a nurturing home environment.

Hailing from Kaba Village in Tailevu and at 27 years old, she believes that with the right support from friends, peers, and family, she can achieve further milestones. “Nothing is impossible; this won’t be my last graduation. I am determined to pursue the next level,” she affirmed.
