After a four-year hiatus to care for her two children, Maria Adimainatuvu celebrated her graduation from the University of the South Pacific yesterday. Filled with joy, Ms. Adimainatuvu received her Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management, marking the beginning of her journey in the tourism industry.
“Completing this degree has significantly boosted my self-esteem and given me a profound sense of accomplishment,” she expressed. She acknowledged the challenges of balancing her studies with family responsibilities but emphasized the rewarding nature of her efforts.
Despite numerous setbacks, Ms. Adimainatuvu persevered, driven by her desire to create a better future for her children. She believes her success highlights essential values such as education, determination, and personal growth that she hopes to impart to her children.
Her experience in returning to school while handling family duties has also improved her problem-solving abilities and adaptability. Deeply committed to her family values, she takes pride in fostering a nurturing home environment.
At 27 years old and originally from Kaba Village in Tailevu, she is inspired by the support of her peers, friends, and family. “Nothing is impossible; this will not be my last graduation. I am going to pursue the next level,” she declared.
