After a four-year hiatus to care for her two children, Maria Adimainatuvu celebrated her graduation from the University of the South Pacific yesterday. Overcome with emotion, Ms. Adimainatuvu proudly accepted her Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management, marking the beginning of her aspirations within the tourism sector.
“Completing this degree has greatly enhanced my self-esteem and imparted a deep sense of achievement,” she remarked. Reflecting on her journey, she acknowledged the challenges of balancing family responsibilities with her studies. “It wasn’t an easy path, but it has also been incredibly rewarding,” she stated, noting that despite numerous setbacks, her determination was fueled by the desire to provide a better future for her children.
She feels that her accomplishment has laid a strong foundation for her children, emphasizing the significance of education, perseverance, and self-betterment. The experience of returning to school while managing family duties has sharpened her problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
Ms. Adimainatuvu, who hails from Kaba Village in Tailevu, expressed that the unwavering support from friends and family has been vital in her journey. “Nothing is impossible, and this won’t be my last graduation. I am determined to pursue the next level,” she declared confidently.
