The 29-year-old military personnel stated that he did not expect the game to go to penalties, but once it did, he declared he would take the final kick.

After missing a penalty in the semifinal, Wasasala felt determined to make up for it in the final and silence any critics. He recounted how he reassured his teammates of his readiness to take the decisive kick, filled with confidence that he could secure the title for Labasa.
