Rowena Acraman has demonstrated remarkable resilience despite the loss of her grandmother earlier this year. The former radio journalist, who is passionate about human rights and climate change, is one of the nine contestants vying for the title in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024.

Supported by Miss APCO Coatings, Ms. Acraman shared that her three years of studying were filled with challenges, but with the encouragement of her friends, she successfully navigated various obstacles. “Chasing my ambitions in both journalism and psychology has been quite demanding for me personally,” she commented. “The hardships I faced at home proved my resilience.”

She expressed satisfaction with the outcome of her dedication, stating, “The hard work and sleepless nights have truly paid off.”

This week has been an exciting and enriching experience for Ms. Acraman as she participates in the festival and contends for the crown, describing the journey as magical despite her mixed emotions.

Beyond her academic pursuits, Ms. Acraman is a passionate artist, singer, and musician, proficient in both the guitar and ukulele. She aims to work with a non-governmental organization focused on advocating for human rights and climate change. Although balancing work and academics posed a challenge, she successfully maintained a steady income while completing her degree.
