Roneel Ritesh Ram, a 36-year-old entrepreneur, is fulfilling his dream of running a successful bakery business. Based in Lautoka, he opened La Panaderia & Café just two years ago, driven by the desire to create a better future for his children.
Mr. Ram’s passion for baking began in 2008 when he became an apprentice at Lums Hot Bread in Sigatoka. Since then, he has gained extensive experience working with various bakeries, including Deans Tabraki in Nausori and New World IGA in Lautoka. His dream of owning a bakery stems from the hardships he faced growing up, particularly after losing his mother at the age of five. He even established his business as a birthday gift for his daughter, wanting his children to have a brighter path.
With an investment of $25,000, sourced from his savings, he has built this family venture without employing anyone else, opting instead for a family-operated model. However, the journey hasn’t been without challenges, including an unfortunate incident where his shop was robbed. Despite this, Mr. Ram’s determination remains unwavering, as he consistently emphasizes the importance of hard work in achieving success.
In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Mr. Ram is also a passionate supporter of local football. He attended Naidovi Primary School and Cuvu College, later marrying Arishma Prasad in 2017, with whom he shares two children.
This inspiring story showcases not only Mr. Ram’s entrepreneurial spirit but also his commitment to overcoming adversity and providing a better life for his family. His journey embodies resilience and the power of pursuing one’s dreams, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps in the bakery business and beyond.
