Jamea Dolarii, the Chief Executive Officer of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce, exemplifies perseverance and leadership through his remarkable journey from humble beginnings to a key role in business. Born in the remote Malaita Province, Dolarii overcame significant hardships, including growing up in a family of seven who struggled for basic necessities. Reflecting on his childhood, he recalls, “We didn’t have flip-flops or umbrellas. We used banana leaves for shelter during the rain and sold coconuts to make a living.”

After graduating from high school in 2007, he took a significant step by enrolling at The University of the South Pacific (USP) in 2008. The opening of this campus has invigorated USP alumni, many of whom are excited to return and pursue further studies. Dolarii plans to enhance his credentials by enrolling in a Professional Diploma in Legal Practice (PDLP) at the new campus next year.
