From Humble Beginnings to Baton of Honour: Meet the Discipline-Driven Student Making Waves

Mosese Tuimatai, a recipient of the Baton of Honour from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, emphasized the importance of living with discipline for long-term benefits. The 18-year-old, hailing from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, spoke about a valuable lesson imparted by his father throughout his upbringing.

Surprised by the recognition, Mosese noted that he is the first in his family to complete Year 13. He highlighted the significance of listening to parental guidance and praised the cadet training program for teaching self-discipline, which he believes is crucial for students’ growth.

“I am thankful to the teachers for their support and for facilitating the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces’ training,” he said, acknowledging the discipline instilled in him through the program.

Aspiring to become a marine engineer, Mosese expressed gratitude for reaching this milestone in his education. “I thank God for making this possible, and I am deeply appreciative of my family’s unwavering support,” he stated, adding that winning the Baton of Honour was an unexpected and joyful honor.
