Rowena Acraman has shown remarkable resilience this year, despite the loss of her grandmother earlier. A former radio journalist with a passion for human rights and climate change, Acraman is one of the nine contestants vying for the title in the Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024.
Supported by her sponsor, Miss APCO Coatings, Acraman reflects on her three years of studies, which were filled with challenges. She credits the support of her friends for helping her navigate through various obstacles.
“Pursuing both journalism and psychology was no easy task for me,” Acraman admitted. “The struggles at home tested my resilience, and I can see how hard work and sleepless nights have truly paid off.”
This week has been a transformative experience for Acraman as she engages in the festival activities and competes for the crown. With a mix of emotions, she describes the experience as nothing short of magical.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Acraman is also a talented artist and musician, proficient in both guitar and ukulele. Her career aspiration is to work with a non-governmental organization focused on human rights and climate change. She acknowledges the difficulties of balancing work and studies but has successfully maintained a stable income while completing her degree.
