Growing up in a family passionate about food greatly influenced Josese Cagica’s culinary journey, leading him to obtain a culinary qualification and establish his own bakery.
At the recent Miss Hibiscus Festival, Mr. Cagica had the chance to employ young individuals from Nadera, allowing them to earn a respectable income. He described participating in the festival as a fresh experience, highlighting the difficulties he faces in building his brand.
“Being here at the Miss Hibiscus Festival is a unique opportunity for me, especially as I introduce new pastries that could become popular in the area,” he stated.
Mr. Cagica emphasized that events like the Hibiscus Festival allow business owners like himself to improve their visibility and representation in the market. He is dedicated not only to promoting his bakery, ‘The Cake Lab,’ but also to supporting local youth by providing them with job opportunities.
Motivated by the festival’s spirit, his primary aim is to give back to the community and enhance his and the lives of young people around him. He attributes his progress to the unwavering support from his parents, family, and friends, which he regards as a source of hope.
“I now receive orders not just locally but also from Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Africa,” Mr. Cagica noted.
Despite facing challenges, he remains optimistic, viewing this phase of his career as a blessing rather than a setback.
