From Dreams of Flying to the Legal Sky: A Young Lawyer’s Journey

John Vaurasi’s aspiration to become a pilot did not come to fruition. Instead, he celebrated a significant achievement by being sworn in as a lawyer, which he described as his greatest accomplishment. At the ceremony held at the Grand Pacific Hotel, he became the youngest among the 45 new lawyers admitted to the bar.

“My shift in career interest occurred when I began working part-time for Rabuku Lawyers. With this experience, my dream of becoming a pilot faded, and my passion for law emerged,” Vaurasi explained.

He acknowledged the challenges he faced while studying law. “It wasn’t easy; I encountered many struggles, but working part-time at a law firm made the journey much more manageable,” he noted.

He referred to the rigorous demands of legal studies, especially the extensive reading and theoretical work, as significant hurdles. Throughout his academic journey, he emphasized the importance of building good relationships with senior lawyers and professors, which greatly assisted him.

Despite moments of doubt when he considered giving up, he persevered. He attributed his success to his parents, who consistently encouraged him to pursue his goals.
