Mosese Tuimatai, the recipient of the Baton of Honour from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School, emphasized the importance of living a disciplined life for long-term benefits. The 18-year-old, hailing from Maumi Village in Bau, Tailevu, expressed his surprise when he was called to receive the award and shared that he is the first in his family to complete Year 13.
He highlighted the significance of listening to parents and noted that the cadet training program has been instrumental in teaching self-discipline. “It is important for us as children to listen to our parents. The cadet training programme teaches us self-discipline, which is beneficial in the long run. I thank the teachers for allowing the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces to train us,” he said.
Mosese aspires to become a marine engineer and expressed gratitude for his achievements. “I thank God for making it possible for me to reach this point. My family has been my biggest supporter, and I am grateful to each one of them.” He added, “I did not expect to be the recipient of the Baton of Honour, so receiving it makes me both happy and grateful.”
