Michael Prasad, a passionate fitness enthusiast from Suva, has transitioned from a banking career to becoming the owner of Evolve Fitness Gym, which recently opened on Raojibhai Patel Street. At the age of 34, Prasad decided to leave his position at Bank South Pacific in 2019 to pursue his dream of promoting fitness and helping others achieve their health goals.
His journey began when he offered personal training at Metro Gym in Suva before realizing the demand for a more exclusive training environment. This led him to establish a private studio for four years, where he trained approximately 300 to 400 clients, all while gaining insights into the community’s fitness needs. His clients expressed a preference for a gym located centrally, which inspired him to create Evolve Fitness Gym.
Evolve Fitness Gym provides intimate fitness classes for small groups of up to eight participants, allowing for personalized attention and focused training. Prasad has equipped the gym with 41 new, exclusive machines, including a belt squat, hip thrust, and pendulum squat machine. His goal is to foster a supportive fitness community and offer expanded classes like beginners’ workouts and mindful practices such as yoga.
Prasad’s approach emphasizes a balanced lifestyle, encouraging gym members to enjoy life without the pressure of strict diets, as reflected in his tagline, “live your fullest.” He believes that it’s possible to indulge responsibly while maintaining a consistent workout routine. The gym currently offers flexible pricing packages, including monthly and annual memberships, along with plans for potential corporate partnerships in the future.
Prasad’s story serves as a testament to the power of following one’s passion and the positive impact community-focused fitness can have on people’s lives. Evolve Fitness Gym aims to provide a refreshing fitness experience for all, embracing both physical wellness and a holistic approach to lifestyle.
This positive initiative not only enhances the fitness landscape in Suva but also inspires others to pursue their passions and improve their health in an inclusive environment.
