Growing up in a family that cherished food inspired Josese Cagica to pursue culinary training and open his own bakery. He recently participated in the Miss Hibiscus Festival, which allowed him to create job opportunities for young people in Nadera, helping them earn a stable income. Although he faced challenges in establishing his business, showcasing his products at the festival was a fresh and rewarding experience.
“Participating in the Miss Hibiscus Festival is a unique opportunity for me, particularly since I’m introducing new pastries that have the potential to become popular in the community,” he expressed. “Events like these give business owners like myself a chance to enhance our representation in the market.”
In addition to nurturing his brand, ‘The Cake Lab,’ Mr. Cagica is committed to supporting the youth of Nadera through employment opportunities. The festival’s spirit motivated him to give back to his community, as he aims to improve his living conditions and those of the young people he encounters. The encouragement he has received from his parents, family, and friends has been instrumental in his journey.
“I now receive orders from local customers as well as from countries such as Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Africa,” he stated.
Despite facing numerous challenges, Mr. Cagica views his current situation as more of a blessing than a burden, demonstrating his resilience and commitment to his community.
