The Home Affairs Ministry will finance bus services in the North for the Fiji Day celebrations taking place in Labasa tomorrow, according to Samuela Ligairi, the special administrator of the Labasa Town Council.
Ligairi stated that the bus service is designed for residents of the areas of Savusavu, Nabouwalu, and Dogotuki. “We have arranged for three buses each for Nabouwalu and Savusavu, and one for Dogotuki,” he noted.
“This initiative is aimed at ensuring that everyone can participate in the celebrations without the concern of transportation,” he added. He also mentioned that regular bus services in Labasa would be operational as usual.
“We have received assurance from the bus operators in the North because we want to encourage maximum attendance at the event,” he remarked. The bus service will depart from three different locations at 6 AM.
