The New England Free Jacks have announced the signing of Fijian Drua prop Jone Koroiduadua. The club made the announcement last Friday, emphasizing that his addition will significantly strengthen their front row as they strive to build on recent achievements in Major League Rugby (MLR).

Koroiduadua, a 25-year-old from Nalebaleba, Nadroga, has been with the Drua since their inaugural season in 2022, following a two-year stint at Clermont in the French Top 14. He also played for the Drua back in 2019.

The club’s statement highlighted Koroiduadua as one of Fiji’s most promising rising stars, noting that he will bring exceptional power and physicality to the Free Jacks’ forward pack. With over 20 appearances for the Fijian Drua across three seasons of Super Rugby Pacific, he has already gained international experience, having earned two caps for the Flying Fijians and participated in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

He has also represented Nadroga in the Skipper Cup competition and was a part of the national Under-20 team. The statement described Koroiduadua as a formidable scrummager, crucial to the Fijian Drua’s strong scrum performance in Super Rugby Pacific last season. Weighing 255 pounds, he is regarded as a powerful athlete, effective both in collisions and when carrying the ball, which is an essential quality for the Free Jacks’ forward pack.

The Free Jacks also announced the signing of New Zealand lock Sam Caird for the season.
