Four North Schools Join Crime Stoppers Scholastic Program to Create Safer Learning Environment

The Crime Stoppers Scholastic Program has recently been extended with the participation of four more schools in the Northern region. The new additions include Holy Cross College, South Taveuni Secondary School, Bucalevu Secondary School, and Niusawa Methodist School, announced by the Fiji Police Force.

The educational program, established in 2005, is designed to encourage young students to respect and adhere to the law. The Fiji Police Force noted that since the program was introduced, the participating students and their institutional boards have effectively created a safer, crime-free space for learning.

The initiative focuses on empowering students by enhancing their understanding of their individual responsibilities and roles within the school setting. It fosters a sense of ownership among the students, encouraging them to collectively maintain the reputation of their school, family, and community by keeping each other accountable.

The Fiji Police Force expressed its gratitude to the Fiji Corrections Service for its willingness to help kickstart the program. The collaboration is seen to offer students valuable insight into the importance of joint efforts for the common good.
